Baseball Season in full swing

It is baseball time again! It seems like we just finished soccer season. School will be starting soon... where has the time gone? It was another hot and humid day out at the ball field. Hunter's game was first and actually started out with some rain. His coach is new to coach and is pitching underhand to the kids. Hunter patiently waits for the ball then crushes it! Joe pitches to him at home so he doesn't develop any bad habits. Hopefully the pitching changes but this was only his second game.

Brody was up next and it was the heat of the day! The kids were asking to wear shorts instead of the long pants. Brody is quite the hitter. He winds up a bit too much but is one of the few who can hit it out of the infield (I guess all the golf practice has helped with his hand/eye coordination). He gets a little bored in the field but so do alot of the other kids.

Both games were fun to watch and the boys had fun. After the games we went straight to the pool to cool off. I'm sure this heat will break soon but not soon enough for me!

Joe's race was a triathlon also but he did it in reverse order due to the number of people.

Joe finished his race in 50:04. He was the overall winner. The second place winner was 4 minutes behind him. It was hot both days for the triathlons but we all survived.

The boys and I went to Okuma this week with the Curtins. Joe was going to go but at the last minute his boss sent him to a 2 week conference in VA- so he missed the fun! We had one day of good weather due to a typhoon coming our way. So on that one day, we rode the bikes, hiked up trails and played in the water. The condo that we rented had room for 21 people (one other family did not come with us so we had a lot of room) The kids had fun and it was nice to get away. The next day, we were going to hike to a waterfall but the weather got bad and they closed everything up there. The typhoon was then down graded to a tropical storm. After sitting around realizing there was nothing to do, we packed up and headed home. I secured all the outdoor items and went inside to "wait out" the storm. The storm never came but we are getting strong gusts of wind with some rain.

Our last trip to Okuma ended with us coming home early also. We were in a tent and the wind was so strong that the sides of the tent were collapsing in. So a word to the wise, if you plan on going camping and want good weather, don't ask us to come with you- we don't have much luck in that department. Joe will be home on Sunday and the triathlon that I was going to do got postponed until the 15th.
